Hebron Christian Reformed Church Whitby

Hebron Church Whitby

Project Overview

Hebron Church in Whitby, ON was in need of a full website refresh. Their builder was dated, was hard to manage and had persistent navigation glitches.  We worked with them to not only give their site a new look, but also improve functionality and move it to a more modern builder to eliminate site errors and make it easier for the staff to manage.

Challenge

The website refresh for Hebron Church presented a number of challenges.

First was that the site had corrupted code so we had to retain page data but start our rebuild from a fresh install of WordPress.

Second was that Hebron Church had a back catalogue of over 6 years worth of audio sermon recording hosted locally that needed to be culled, sorted and organized to make it easier for users to search and access.

Third was that they were using third-party admin management software that needed to re-integrated into the rebuild.

Solution

We worked with the staff at Hebron to clean up old pages, sort through and organize audio files, and rebuild the site using a more modern, user-friendly backend framework.

We also added automated prompts to improve usability and ensure a smooth in-person registration process for Sunday services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Results

The staff was very pleased with the new look, and the site now runs error-free on all devices.  The site now integrates seamlessly with YouTube as well, simplifying sermon video search and reducing admin time for the staff.
